Company Profile (Our History)

A.M.T. Marican has been supplying provisions, rations, stevedoring services, and general chandler support to both commercial and naval ships arriving in Thailand since 1871.  Back in the days of the tall ships, A.M.T. Marican’s first office was located at Chartered Bank Lane off Charoenkrung Road, providing services to the ports of Bangkok, Sriracha and Koh Srichang before moving to new premises near the French Embassy at 150 Old Custom House Lane. 

 We’ve been in the business since the time when officers from tall-ships sailing up the Chao Phraya river in Bangkok would come knocking on our office doors, letters took weeks to arrive in Bangkok and the phone numbers in Thailand were just 5 digits.  Nowadays of course, we are glad to advise you about our services through the internet and modern technology.

 We are proud of our company’s heritage as the first company in Thailand to provide specialized naval contractor support. Over many years, we have worked closely with naval ships visiting Thailand from the United Kingdom, Australia, the United States of America, France, Canada, Spain, Russia, New Zealand, The Netherlands, Mexico, Indonesia, Germany, Portugal, Pakistan, Singapore, Malaysia, India and others.  We’re particularly proud of our relationship spanning more than a 100 years with various Commonwealth nations.

 Testament to the quality of our services is demonstrated by the awarding of the ‘Member of the British Empire’ (MBE) and the ‘l’Ordre du Merite Maritime’ (OMM) by Great Britain and France to Mr. Suchart Marican, our current Managing Director of A.M.T. Marican.

In recent years, we have extended our services to include assisting in facilitating customs issues in Thailand (import and export) and also provision of specialist military support to Army and Air Force elements at various establishments around Thailand.

We are ready to serve you – anywhere in Thailand -  for many years to come.
